Dylan Brack started his golf journey at the Tiger Woods Learning Lab in Anaheim. Last year, he won Tiger’s first junior tournament at Pebble Beach. Now, at just 18 years old, he’s about to play his first PGA Tour event – and fittingly, it’s on a course that Tiger Woods designed.
After finishing high school this year in his hometown of Riverside, California, Brack has been playing in local tournaments as an amateur. He just earned his spot in the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal through a Monday qualifier. Playing at Palmilla Golf Club, he shot an impressive 8-under 64, beating Ryan Gerard (a new PGA Tour player) and Zach Bauchou (who used to play for Oklahoma State) by one shot. William Moll, who played college golf at Vanderbilt, won a playoff against Mitchell Schow and Alex Welch to get the last spot.
Brack had a great start in his qualifying round. He made an eagle on the second hole – meaning he got the ball in the hole two shots under par – and went on to make seven birdies. He only had one bogey all day.

He’s been busy this fall. He did well enough to medal in the early rounds of PGA Tour qualifying school but couldn’t quite make it through the first stage. He also played in the U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine, where he finished in the middle of the pack, tied for 117th out of 312 players. Before that, he made it pretty far in the Cal State Amateur, getting to the final 32 players.
Several well-known former PGA Tour players tried to qualify too but didn’t make it, including Ricky Barnes, Kevin Stadler, Robert Garrigus, Spencer Levin, Bo Van Pelt, and Grant Hirschman. Michael Block, a PGA teaching pro, tried to qualify with his son Dylan, but they also came up short.
