Frustration Boils Over at Innisbrook as Hadwin Battles Sprinkler Head
Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course is getting in players’ heads this week.
Patton Kizzire snapped his putter in half on Friday before withdrawing from the tournament. Sahith Theegala has been visibly frustrated with his play. And now, Adam Hadwin has joined the club with a sprinkler head incident that’s making rounds on social media.
Hadwin missed the cut by three shots after posting a second-round 5-over 76, finishing at 5 over for the tournament. It’s his third missed cut in his last four starts, and the frustration finally boiled over on the 10th hole.

After recording one of his two double bogeys on the back nine, Hadwin was walking toward the green with wedge in hand when he decided the rough needed some punishment. He turned his wedge into an impromptu sledgehammer and slammed it into the turf. What happened next was pure comedy – water immediately shot up from the ground in two directions from a hidden sprinkler head.
The Canadian looked immediately embarrassed as he tried desperately to stop the flow, stepping on the sprinkler and eventually bending down for a closer look. Meanwhile, water continued soaking him from head to toe. Talk about adding insult to injury.
Hadwin hasn’t commented publicly on the incident yet, but his wife Jessica had some fun with it. She posted an image to X on Saturday afternoon that reads, “0 days since last incident,” with the caption: “Through sickness and health. Amen.”
The Copperhead Course is living up to its reputation as one of the tougher stops on Tour. Between broken clubs, frustrated players, and now impromptu water features, it’s clear the Snake Pit is biting back this week.
