The Augusta National Women’s Amateur has been opening doors at golf’s most hallowed grounds since 2019, giving elite female amateurs a chance to compete at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club.
The inaugural tournament set a high bar when Wake Forest’s Jennifer Kupcho and Arkansas’ Maria Fassi delivered an electric duel on Augusta’s second nine. Kupcho ultimately claimed the first title in what’s become one of amateur golf’s most coveted trophies. Most recently, Florida State’s Lottie Woad made her own mark on tournament history, birdieing three of her final four holes to win the 2024 championship in dramatic fashion.
The tournament’s format splits competition between two venues. Players tackle the first 36 holes at Champions Retreat in Evans, Georgia, before the cut. Then everyone gets a practice round at Augusta National – a thrill in itself – before the final round where champions are crowned on the same course that hosts the Masters.
