Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has committed to play college golf at Florida State. The junior at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach made his verbal commitment Tuesday, opting to stay in his home state for his collegiate career.

Currently ranked No. 21 in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) rankings, Charlie has been steadily building his resume. He captured his first AJGA victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational last May and tied for ninth at the Junior PGA Championship last summer—performances that boosted his ranking and attracted attention from top college golf programs nationwide.

At Florida State, Charlie will join an impressive incoming class that includes Miles Russell, currently the No. 1 ranked player in junior golf who’s also committed to the Seminoles.

The decision to stay in-state mirrors his father’s path. Tiger also chose to remain in his home state when he left high school in Southern California, playing two years at Stanford before turning professional. Tiger’s daughter, Sam, is currently attending Stanford as well.

Florida State has a rich golf tradition, producing major champions including Brooks Koepka, Paul Azinger, and Jeff Sluman. Charlie’s commitment adds another potentially significant name to the program’s legacy.
