Taylor Pendrith just made golf history at Kapalua with an incredible shot that’s never been seen before at The Sentry tournament.
The big-hitting Canadian pulled off an amazing albatross – that’s three under par on a single hole – by sinking his second shot from 203 yards out on the par-5 fifth hole. It’s the first time anyone’s done that since the tournament started back in 1999.

“I had a really good number,” Pendrith said, grinning. “As soon as I hit it I knew it was going to be really good.” He didn’t actually see the ball drop in, but the fans went wild up by the green.
Here’s what makes it even more interesting – this wasn’t just any lucky shot. It turns out Pendrith is something of an albatross specialist.
“That’s actually No. 8,” he revealed. “Which is weird. I’ve got three holes-in-one and that’s No. 8 albatross.”
To put that in perspective, there have only been 142 albatrosses recorded on the entire PGA Tour since 1983. Last season saw just five of them, with Nick Hardy getting the most recent one at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
The spectacular shot moved Pendrith to 20 under par, though he was still trailing leader Hideki Matsuyama by seven shots at that point. He finished the tournament at 22 under after shooting a solid 68.
While he didn’t take home the trophy, Pendrith definitely left Hawaii with a piece of history in his pocket.
