Johnson Wagner to Recreate Tiger Woods’ Iconic 2000 Shots Live on Golf Channel

Golf Channel analyst Johnson Wagner is stepping into Tiger Woods’ shoes – literally. The three-time PGA Tour winner will attempt to recreate some of Tiger’s most iconic shots from his legendary 2000 season live during “Golf Central Postgame” broadcasts this Thursday through Sunday.

Wagner will travel to four different locations to see if he can pull off what many consider the most memorable shots in golf over the last quarter-century. The specific shots and locations are being kept under wraps until the broadcasts.

It’s an intriguing concept that builds on what’s become a popular segment. Since The Players Championship earlier this year, “Golf Central” has produced more than 40 segments featuring Wagner’s shot re-enactments, covering everything from major-winning moments to crucial shots before, during and after tournaments.

Rich Lerner and Brandel Chamblee, Wagner’s colleagues from “Live From,” will host the special “Postgame” segments at these times (all EDT):

  • Thursday, May 8: 6-7 p.m.
  • Friday, May 9: 6-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 10: 7:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 11: 6-7 p.m.

For golf fans, this is a chance to revisit some of Tiger’s most spectacular moments from what many consider his most dominant season. The year 2000 saw Woods win three majors and nine tournaments overall while redefining what was possible in the game.

What makes this different is seeing a fellow tour professional attempt these shots in real-time. Wagner’s attempts will likely highlight just how extraordinary Tiger’s shotmaking truly was during that historic season.

Check back here each night for video clips of Wagner’s Tiger 2000 recreations.
