Laurie Canter claimed his second DP World Tour victory at the Bahrain Championship, outlasting Pablo Larrazabal and Daniel Brown in a playoff at Al Mazrowiah.
The 89th-ranked Canter sealed the win with a birdie on the first playoff hole – the 18th – while his competitors couldn’t manage par. It’s his first triumph since winning the European Open last June after returning from a stint on the LIV Golf circuit.
The tournament’s most dramatic moment came on the 72nd hole. Larrazabal, ranked 311th and hunting his 10th European tour title, needed just a two-putt from 35 feet to win outright. But he left his first attempt 6 feet short and pushed the par putt right, forcing the three-way playoff.
