LPGA Releases 2026 Schedule with Chevron Championship Moving Again image

The Chevron Championship is moving again.

The LPGA released its 2026 competition schedule on Wednesday ahead of the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida. While the full slate includes 31 tournaments (down from 32 last year), the most notable change is that the Chevron Championship’s venue is now listed as “to be determined.”

The Chevron has called The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, home for the past three seasons after leaving its longtime host Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California. The major will remain in the Houston area for its April 23-26 dates, but according to Golfweek, it’s headed to Memorial Park, which currently hosts the PGA Tour’s Texas Children’s Houston Open.

The LPGA has boosted non-major purses to over $132 million, with ten tournaments receiving significant increases. The Fortinet Founders Cup and Buick LPGA Shanghai are the big winners, each adding more than $1 million to reach $3 million and $3.2 million respectively.

Several tournaments are on the move in 2026. The Founders Cup shifts from Bradenton, Florida, to Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club in Menlo Park, California, while also sliding from early February to March 19-22. The Mizuho Americas Open leaves Liberty National for Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, New Jersey (though Liberty National will return as host in 2028). Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s Kroger Queen City Championship jumps from September to May 14-17 and relocates to Maketewah Country Club.

The Black Desert Championship in Ivins, Utah, is off the schedule entirely, while the Aramco Championship replaces the T-Mobile Match Play but keeps Shadow Creek in Las Vegas as its venue.

The Toto Japan Classic is moving to Taiheiyo Club in Ibaraki, and like the Chevron, the Buick LPGA Shanghai has yet to announce its venue.

Major Championship Venues

The 2026 major championship lineup features some prestigious venues:

  • Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles (U.S. Women’s Open)
  • Hazeltine National in Chaska, Minnesota (KPMG Women’s PGA)
  • Evian Resort (Evian Championship)
  • Royal Lytham and St. Annes in England (AIG Women’s Open)

It’s worth noting that the KPMG and Evian will be held just two weeks apart with no tournament in between, creating a challenging stretch for players.

The Solheim Cup will be contested September 11-15 at Bernardus Golf in Netherlands.

This schedule announcement follows the LPGA’s first-ever all-women broadcast team, a significant milestone since Golf Channel began broadcasting the tour in 1995. Fans can also look forward to enhanced broadcast experiences thanks to partnerships with FM and Trackman. Non-major events will feature 50% more cameras, triple the microphones, slow-motion cameras, drones and four times the shot-tracing capabilities than previous years.
