Ludvig Åberg is back on the PGA Tour after a two-month break he never planned on taking.
The rising golf star had to step away for knee surgery right after his impressive run at the Tour Championship in August. But he’s making the most of his return this week at the RSM Classic.

“I feel 100 percent, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,” Åberg said Tuesday. “I’m actually a little bit stronger now than I was before, so that’s good.”
The young pro needed surgery to fix a torn medial meniscus in his left knee. While nobody likes being sidelined, he found a silver lining in the forced break.
“Oh, yeah, absolutely,” he smiled. “I did the surgery in New York, so I spent the first couple weeks there doing rehab. Luckily, I was still able to walk, so me and my girlfriend were in the city acting like tourists, so that was fun.”
The knee issue wasn’t affecting his swing or walking, but it did mess with how he read putts on the green. He decided to get it fixed right after East Lake, scheduling the surgery for September 5.
His recovery moved pretty quickly. By October 5, he was already back to hitting chip shots.
The timing of his return couldn’t be better – the RSM Classic is where he claimed his first Tour title last year. He’s spent the last few weeks getting ready to defend that championship, and now he’s feeling stronger than ever.
