Rory McIlroy has finally captured the elusive green jacket, defeating Justin Rose on the first playoff hole to win the 89th Masters Tournament at Augusta National.
After both players finished regulation tied at 12 under par, McIlroy made a decisive birdie in sudden death to claim his first Masters title. The victory completes McIlroy’s career Grand Slam, adding the Masters to his collection of major championships that already included the U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship.
