The PGA Tour Champions has unveiled its 2026 schedule, featuring 28 events and a record-setting purse total exceeding $69 million.
Two new tournaments join the lineup: the Portugal Invitational (July 27-Aug. 2) and the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic (Sept. 28-Oct. 4). It’s a slight purse increase from this year’s total, giving the over-50 crowd more opportunities to compete for significant prize money.
Several existing events are getting fresh updates, too. The Mitsubishi Electric Classic will switch to the Stableford scoring system, creating a different strategic challenge for players. Jim Furyk’s tournament is moving to Hammock Beach resort in Florida. And the Stifel Charity Classic will now serve as the kickoff event for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs.
These changes come at an interesting time, as 2026 marks the eligibility of some major star power. Tiger Woods becomes Champions Tour eligible, along with Zach Johnson and Ryan Palmer – potentially bringing new attention to the circuit.
The major championship venues are set for 2026, with the Senior PGA heading to Concession, the Regions Tradition at Greystone, the U.S. Senior Open at Scioto, the Kaulig Companies Championship at Firestone, and the Senior Open at Gleneagles.
What’s notable about this schedule is both its global reach and the continued investment in the senior circuit. The $69 million purse total reflects the Tour’s commitment to keeping the Champions Tour relevant as a competitive option for golf’s biggest names as they age out of regular PGA Tour competition.
