Trump National Doral likely returning to PGA Tour schedule in 2025
Trump National Doral is set to host a PGA Tour event next year, marking its return to the schedule after a nine-year absence, according to Sports Business Journal, which cited “five industry sources.”
The Trump Organization-owned course is expected to claim the April 30-May 3 slot in the 2025 schedule, positioned between the Zurich Classic and Truist Championship. This addition will push the CJ Cup Byron Nelson later in the calendar, placing it just before the Charles Schwab Challenge — creating back-to-back events in the Dallas area.
The PGA Tour has already declined to comment on the report. The Tour typically releases the following season’s schedule in August.
Trump National Doral, located about 30 minutes west of downtown Miami, has significant history with the Tour. It hosted the Doral Open from 1962 to 2006 before the tournament was elevated to World Golf Championships status from 2007 to 2016. The event then moved to Mexico City in 2017.
During its time away from the PGA Tour, Doral hasn’t been completely idle on the professional golf front. The course has hosted a LIV Golf event in each of the rival league’s first four seasons, including a tournament this year the week before the Masters. It’s worth noting that Doral doesn’t appear on LIV’s 2026 schedule.
The SBJ report included other notable schedule changes for next season. The Mexico Open appears to be dropping off the calendar entirely. There’s also a significant swap between two West Coast events — the WM Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will trade places, with Pebble Beach moving to the week before the Genesis Invitational.
