Sebastian Munoz fired a remarkable 59 on Friday at LIV Golf Indianapolis, becoming the third player in LIV history to break 60 – and the first to do it with a double bogey on his scorecard.
The Colombian star leads by three strokes over Dustin Johnson at The Club at Chatham Hills, a par-71 layout in Westfield, Indiana. His historic round puts him in prime position heading into the weekend.
What makes Munoz’s achievement even more impressive is that he managed to post 59 despite a double bogey. He joins rare company in LIV’s sub-60 club alongside Joaquin Niemann, who shot 59 at Mayakoba to open the 2024 season, and Bryson DeChambeau, who holds the LIV record with his 58 at Greenbrier.
This week’s event marks the final tournament that will determine this year’s individual champion. Munoz, 32, is one of just three players in the top 10 of the standings (along with Jon Rahm and Carlos Ortiz) who hasn’t claimed a victory this season. That could change after his blistering start in Indianapolis.
