Shane Lowry added another memorable ace to his collection Thursday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, joining Rory McIlroy in the hole-in-one club for the day.

Lowry’s ace came at Pebble Beach’s iconic par-3 seventh, where his perfectly struck shot from 113 yards took three hops on the green before finding the bottom of the cup. It’s a shot that’ll look right at home in his highlight reel of special ones.

The timing couldn’t have been better for the Irishman, who turned his ace into a 6-under 66 to match McIlroy’s score. Rory had made his own hole-in-one earlier at Spyglass Hill.

What makes Lowry’s ace even more remarkable is how it fits into his pattern of delivering in the sport’s biggest moments. This is his third hole-in-one on Tour, and each one has come at a legendary venue.

His first ace? That came at Augusta National’s par-3 16th during the final round of the 2016 Masters. He followed that up with another at TPC Sawgrass’s famous island-green 17th during the final round of the 2022 Players Championship.

Now he’s added Pebble Beach’s spectacular seaside seventh to his collection. The 2019 Open champion seems to have a knack for making these moments count at golf’s most iconic holes.
