The Open returns to St. Andrews in 2027 for its 31st visit to the historic venue, and the week will feature more than just championship golf. The World Golf Hall of Fame has announced it will hold its induction ceremony at the Home of Golf during tournament week.

This marks a return to St. Andrews for the Hall of Fame, which previously held its ceremony there in 2015 when Mark O’Meara, Laura Davies and David Graham joined golf’s most exclusive club. Davies nearly missed her own induction when her flight from the U.S. Women’s Open was delayed, though she managed to arrive just in time for the reception.

The Hall of Fame now operates on a biennial induction schedule, with ceremonies alternating between locations. Padraig Harrington headlined the 2024 class at the shrine’s permanent home at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, where the USGA maintains its second headquarters.

“There is no better connection to golf’s rich history and the origins of the game than at St. Andrews,” said Mike Trostel, director of the World Golf Hall of Fame. “We are thrilled to celebrate the next class of golf’s greatest figures at the home of golf and are grateful for the collaboration with our partners at The R&A.”

After the 2027 ceremony at St. Andrews, the Hall of Fame will return to Pinehurst in 2029, coinciding with the USGA’s ambitious scheduling of the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open in back-to-back weeks at the resort.
