Adam Sandler wasn’t the one crushing all those signature drives in “Happy Gilmore 2.” Former PGA Tour pro Hunter Mahan stepped in to deliver some of Happy’s iconic swings in the Netflix sequel that dropped Friday.
Mahan, who won six times on the PGA Tour during his career, jumped at the opportunity to serve as Sandler’s golf swing double.
“When they called and said Happy Gilmore needs a golf swing double, I said say no more,” Mahan shared.
The 43-year-old pro brought legitimate tour credentials to the role. He’s also clearly enjoying his Hollywood moment, posting a video montage showing his transformation into Happy, behind-the-scenes filming footage, and highlights from last week’s red-carpet premiere.
It’s a perfect pairing – one of golf’s most beloved fictional characters brought to life with help from someone who actually knows how to stripe it down the fairway.
