Tiger Woods is teaming up with his son Charlie again, this time for their fifth shot at the PNC Championship in Orlando later this month.
The 15-time major champion made the announcement Tuesday, despite still working his way back from recent health issues. The father-son duo will hit the links December 21-22 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.

“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” Tiger said. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
It’s been a tough year for the elder Woods. He’s barely played, making just five starts and finishing only one tournament – a disappointing 60th place at the Masters. His last competitive round was a missed cut at The Open in July.
Then came another setback: back surgery in September.
The 15-year-old Charlie, meanwhile, is making his own way in the golf world. He’s a sophomore at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, where his team just missed out on defending their state title, finishing second. Charlie had his own taste of high-level competition this year too, qualifying for his first U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills – though it wasn’t his best showing, with rounds of 82-80.
The Woods duo has come close to winning this before. They finished second in 2021, losing to John Daly and his son, and grabbed fifth place last year.
Tiger’s been pretty honest about not being tournament-ready. Just last week he admitted, “I’m still not there. These are 20 of the best players in the world and I’m not sharp enough to compete against them at this level.”
But the PNC Championship is different. It’s a 36-hole scramble where major champions team up with family members – a perfect setting for Tiger to ease back into competition while spending quality time with his son.
Looking ahead, Tiger’s also got his eyes on the TGL, golf’s new tech-focused league, though he’s unsure if he’ll be ready for its January 14 opener.
