Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Early Morning Crash

Tiger Woods was arrested on DUI charges after his Land Rover clipped a truck and rolled onto its side on Jupiter Island, Florida. The golf legend showed “signs of impairment” during the incident, according to a Martin County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies described Woods as having bloodshot, glassy eyes with dilated pupils when they interviewed him. His movements were slow and lethargic, and he was sweating while talking to authorities. Woods admitted he’d “taken a few” prescription medications earlier that morning.

The sheriff’s report indicates deputies found two white pills in Woods’ pocket, identified as hydrocodone—an opioid pain medication. When questioned about the crash, Woods told deputies he’d been looking at his phone and adjusting the radio before hitting the truck.

Woods was traveling at “high speeds” on a beachside residential road when the collision occurred. The truck sustained approximately $5,000 in damage, but fortunately, neither Woods nor the other driver was injured.

After the crash, Woods agreed to a Breathalyzer test that showed no signs of alcohol in his system. However, he refused to take a urine test—which is now a misdemeanor in Florida, even for first-time offenders under a law change last year.

This isn’t Woods’ first vehicle incident. He’s now facing charges of driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Woods was released on bail after about eight hours in custody. His agent at Excel Sports, Mark Steinberg, hasn’t responded to multiple requests for comment. There’s also been silence from Woods’ camp and the PGA Tour, where he serves on the board and chairs the committee reshaping the competition model.
