Rory McIlroy, fresh off his historic Masters victory, will team up again with Shane Lowry to defend their title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
The duo captured last year’s championship at TPC Louisiana in dramatic fashion, defeating Martin Trainer and Chad Ramey in a playoff. The Zurich stands as the PGA Tour’s only official team event, featuring alternating rounds of fourball and foursomes with a 36-hole cut.
McIlroy skipped the RBC Heritage signature event following his Masters triumph. He’s taking some well-deserved time off after joining an elite group as just the sixth player in history to complete the career Grand Slam.
The Zurich Classic field is loaded with 80 compelling teams. Collin Morikawa will partner with Kurt Kitayama, while Robert MacIntyre teams with Thomas Detry. The tournament also features some brotherly partnerships with both the Hojgaard twins and the Fitzpatrick brothers competing.
